Evanna told him that if he will beat Steve, he will become the Lord of the Shadow. And, in that case, he could become even more evil than him!
What would you do, if you were him?

only joking i would of done the same, i guessed he would kill himslef as soon as Evanna said that they are the only things he can do XD

If I were him, I think I would have tried to change the destiny, without trying to be so drastic XD

i think if he just threw away the knife at the second chance at killing darius. steve wouldve broken down and thrown himself in the pit. and because darren was mercifull, i think he wouldnt have become the lord of shadows.... but he is still darren and not the smartest guy (no offense to anyone)
