Full Version: Gone
AirstreamPicaroon
My enormous poem about the the first and last book of the Saga. Entered it in the contest but then remember this has nothing to do with summer and vampires so I'm putting here too. Enjoy.

P.S Sorry if I bore any of you along the way . . . emo-sorry.gif

Gone
Poem by: AirstreamPicaroon
Inspired by Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan

I think of that day . . .
The things I did for you,
Giving my life away,
You would have done it too . . .

Tonight—Cirque du Freak—
I go in with Steve,
I feel the floorboards creak.
I do not want to leave.

Mr. Tall, hello.
He takes our two tickets,
Chews them up then says, “Go.”
Inside, circus thickets.

The acts soon begin—
Horror, fun, and pleasure.
The night air growing thin
At last I see treasure.

That stupid spider,
She was so amazing,
A pretty web rider.
For her I was craving . . .

But then I stole her—
I shouldn’t have done that —
To me it’s just a blur.
Mr. Crepsley then sat . . .

For weeks I fluted,
Madam Octa dancing,
My whistle high tooted
Fingers a-prancing.

But one day all went wrong.
Madam then struck my friend,
Would I sing a death song?
Steve, is this where you end?

Then Crepsley came through
Taking what was his pet.
A wide, straight smile flew.
Away he went, no sweat.

Steve! Oh, Steve, alive?
What a bite from her fangs
Can you ever survive?
By a thread your life hangs!

I sought out the beast
“Yes?” Mr. Crepsley says.
“Help save my friend, at least.”
The options he then lays.

“Be my assistant,
A night dweller like me . . .”
My dreams of life distant
“Vampire I shall be . . .”

Mr. Tiny . . .father.
I look at you with hate.
“Why did you bother?”
For his answer, I wait.

“A world of evil,
It’s what I strive for now.
Don’t you see, little weevil?
You are the reason how.

"Great Lord, my son, come—
Come with me to rule all.
Every vampire and some.
Then we’ll start a huge brawl . . .”

Without approval,
I myself, kill my life.
A death stain removal.
I do it with Steve’s knife . . .

Swimming in the lake.
I’m losing sanity,
My memory is at stake.
Oh, the inhumanity!

Evanna, thank you!
Now I can change the past.
Bring back the boy I knew,
Change the world, safe at last.

I lie on a roof
Letting it all go by.
My journal is the proof
I begin to say good bye . . .

Here I lay thinking,
That day, oh long since gone
My body is shrinking
And here comes the bright dawn.
