Hey...in your opinion, why in the English book Larten talks in this way?
For example...
I would do everything, you have just made me curious.
instead of
I'd do everything, you've just made me curious.
But...why? ^^

I agree with Harkat. Mr. Crepsley admired Seba and about everything he did. Mr. C wanted to be exactly like him!

I think it was actually like this: Larten used to talk normal and run his words together like everybody else but Seba wanted him to talk like he did. Or else he would smack him or hurt his ear or something like that...:/

Thats kinda true but Larten told Seba that he wanted to be exactly like him but after that everytime Larten said "It's" instead of "it is" or anything like that he would pick hair out hid nose or ear >.<

I think it was fot both of those reasons, but mostly because Seba wanted Larten to learn . . .proper English so to stop him from messing up, pull his hair. But yeah, Mr. Crepsley liked Seba too.

Yeah! ^^ I think it's much likely...he wants to imitate Seba =D
But...does any real English person talk that way? ^^ I'm curious!

Not many people that have English as a first language talk like Mr. Crepsley, there a some though. A good hand full at least, I don't really know anyone like that but I know they are out there.

In my family, you are tought not to speak by running your words together. We are not allowed to use can't, won't, don't, doesn't, etc.

Yes.
My great grandfather belived that it is very rude and imformal to smash your words together and he tought his son the same then my father tought me the same way. If I ever spoke that way he would make me drink a tablespoon or two of vinegar, soap, or whatever happened to be at hand.

One:Ew.
Two:Whoa you have to talk that way really?
Three:He talks that way because Seba made him because he wanted to be like Seba and Sebe wouldn't give up until Larten was almost like him.

Yes, I must talk that way.
Poor Larten had a hair pulled from his ear whenever he smashed his words together. I would choose a tablespoon of vinegar over that any day.

What i think is that Americans try to use as many contractions and leave out as many words as they can. Larten is probably English or something.
Maybe he is also used to talking in the Ye Olde Style

Raven shan: You got hit on the head to teach you to speak like that? Harsh. My Grandfater and Father would make me drink vinegar or what ever they had on hand whenever I made a speaking error. And my mentor, Joseph, would hit my knuckles with a ruler whenever I made a typing or writing error.
It is the same with my sister, Nova.
I am glad to see we are not the only ones who must speak this way.

I DO!!!! X3
ex 1. "It depends on to whom you are speaking." (Would be for adults, older people, respective)
ex 2. "Depends on who you're speaking to." (Would be for someone your own age and status)

Poor Sterling. I remember when Nova and Joseph came to visit you when you lived here. He was always by her side making sure she sat up strait, spoke right, etc. I think all of that hair gel he uses seeped through his scalp and effected his brain.
(Oh yeah, and you might want to watch her back. I think he has a thing for her if you know what I mean.)

He does not use gel. It is hair oil.
Thank you for your concern. I will keep an eye open.
But speaking like Larten and Seba mianly has to do with where you grew up and how you are taught to speak.

ouch...that'll hurt...my family does that to me if i smash the words together i would get strapped and hit by anything like belt, whip, long stick, and the long thin twig from the tree...and that hurt BAD! so i have to use the long words not to smash them up together >_<

whoa.. Shiny, i don't know that! Poor Shiny...
My family don't cares.. only one of my friend does. My Mum's english is worst that mine! But if i make mistakes when i speak chinese (family language), my sister would sneer at me until you feel very very bad. She don't hurt you in physical way... she hurt you mentally! That's worse... i prefer vinegar then...

Sometimes if I lose my temper...*shivers* I would be threated the belt. Darren had the belt once for another reason though. I mean if I lost my temper and cursed fouly the belt would snap. You would hear that sound and strighten up right away. But my grandfather is the worst when it comes to gammer and speech.
